LEARN’s Student Achievement and Performance

LEARN Charter Schools provide a compelling choice for parents who want a college preparatory education for their children.  Although we are an elementary school, we consider ourselves a college prep institution, as we believe that the academic foundation and ambition to attend college begins in the very early years of a child’s education.

We are thrilled to report that 100% of LEARN 8th graders from the class of 2010 were accepted to college preparatory high schools including St. Ignatius, Latin School, Francis Parker, Whitney Young, and Fenwick. We are equally as proud of the results of the 2010 Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT). Across the LEARN Network, 80%, 86%, and 85% of LEARN students (93% of whom qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch) met or exceeded state standards in Reading, Math, and Science, respectively.

We completed an alumni survey in 2008, updated in 2010.  We discovered that 99% of our alumni have graduated from high school and 83% matriculated to a four year college or university.  We believe that this is the best evidence of our effectiveness.
